Welcome to the James C. Jernigan Library! The Library houses or has access to over one million books, documents, articles, videos and other materials. The gateway to most of these materials is the Javelina Discovery search tool located on the home page. For materials located within the library, including 41,000 full text journal titles, search OASIS, the Library’s online catalog. Off Campus access to proprietary databases. The library maintains a proxy server that allows access to database content from any Internet connected computer. Using the links in the Online Resources LibGuide, the user will be asked to authenticate using last name and “K” number (K followed by eight numbers).
AMK Digital Repository. The AMK Repository currently houses all recent theses and dissertations and several digital archival collections.
Long Semester Hours. During long semesters, the library observes the following hours of operation:
Monday-Thursday: 7am to 1am
Friday: 7am to 5pm
Saturday: Noon to 6pm
Sunday: 1pm to 1am
Note: Most individual offices within the library are open fewer hours than the building itself. The Reference Desk and Circulation Desk remain open all hours the library is open.
Interlibrary Loan Service & TexShare Card Program. The library maintains an interlibrary loan service that is able to borrow most materials not owned by the Jernigan Library. In addition, the statewide TexShare Card program allows users to directly borrow materials from TexShare libraries, including most Texas academic libraries.
