Self-Booking of Group Presentation Rooms  

How to book one of the Library's three Group Presentation Rooms.

Group Presentaton Rooms

There are three Group Presentation Rooms intended to provide TAMUK students, faculty, and staff a place to rehearse a presentation before giving it in class, interview, conference, or preparation for an oral defense.  These rooms are not group study rooms.  Group Study Rooms are available on the third floor.

 

HOW TO BOOK A ROOM

Library Group Presentation Rooms (109.110,111) may be self-booked.  Remember, however, that students booking these rooms must check out a keyboard and mouse at the Circulation Desk and then proceed to the Reference Desk to have the room unlocked.  Before submitting booking requests please READ THE RULES.  Group Presentation Study Rooms are equipped with Microsoft Office software and are ready to play most video formats.  Computers are open to the web, but there is no printing capability.  Files may be saved to a jump drive. REQUIRED: Logon to the TAMUK domain via NT account credentials.  PLEASE LOG OUT BEFORE YOU LEAVE.

NOTE: Each group desiring to book a Group Presentation Room must select a Group Leader.  The Group Leader will both book the room and checkout the keyboard/mouse.  The Group Leader's student ID card will be held at the Circulation Desk until the keyboard/mouse are checked back in.  

BOOKING PROCEDURES
1. Select one of the links on the left column of this page, or find a room by searching OASIS for "Group Presentation."

2.When the record appears, select the "Book This Room" icon.

3. You will next see the login screen.  You must authenticate in order to book a room. 
Authentication is by name and University ID (K number).

4. After successaful authentication, you will see the "Place a booking" page.
Review the calendar, fill out the form, and then press "Submit" (at bottom of page).

5. If booking is successful, you will see a confirmation screen (below). 
If the room is already booked, try another time or another room.

6. If you have problems placing a booking, please consult a Library staff member.

7. On the date and time of your booking, first go to the Circulation Desk with your
TAMUK student ID card (required!) to confirm your identity and to check out the keyboard and mouse.
8. Proceed to Reference Desk and ask to have the room unlocked.
9. When you are finished, return to the Reference Desk so that the room is re-locked.
